Social Security Administration · Enterprise UX Design System
Across SSA products, teams shared components but lacked clear guidance on usage, behavior, and accessibility. This led to inconsistency, duplicated effort, and late-stage rework.
I worked on the enterprise UX design system to provide clear, usable guidance that helped designers and developers make consistent, accessible decisions across internal and public-facing applications.
This work focused on defining component purpose, interaction behavior, accessibility requirements, and technical considerations — not just documenting visuals.
The design system reduced ambiguity, improved consistency across products, and helped teams address usability and accessibility earlier in the design and development process.
Design systems are most effective when they encode decisions — not just visuals.
